It's here, it's expensive, it uses a lot of power but boy is it fast! At 4K gaming with ray tracing and all the DLSS "fake frames" malarkey switched off you can expect an average frame rate performance uplift of around 20-50% over the previous flagship RTX 4090, and around twice as fast as the generation before, at around 100% faster than a 3090 Ti. Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom liberty alone, arguably the most demanding ray tracing title of all time shows a performance uplift of over 50% compared to its predecessor. Workstation tasks also show big performance uplifts too and all of this results in one thing, The Nvidia RTX 5090 32GB is very much so in demand.

2 - THE SITUATION
Simply put, on launch, the little stock that was available was hoovered up and at the time of writing 3/2/25 continues to be out of stock with little to no information as to when the situation will improve. In addition, the non scalper pricing we are seeing is/was higher than MSRP and this is likely due to of course increased demand but also logistical costs on smaller batches of product that has to come from the other side of the world to reach us.

4 - WHY?
At the moment, there again is nothing formal out there. Speculation on low production volume, scalpers, American tariff laws and trying to gain the upper hand on competition are the reasons being thrown around. If you were to twist our arms for an answer we would put the supply issue mainly down to low production volume however its is clear from our digging that the dirty scalpers are most certainly at it again;

5 - THE SOLUTION
Unfortunately, right now and the foreseeable future there is no quick fix. Yes we could go armed with pitchforks to scalpers houses (don't do that by the way) but realistically there is nothing anyone can do until ultimately Nvidia ramps up stock. To further compound the problem even when there is more stock, scalpers will continue to scalp however when the industry faced similar problems, but not as major, with the 40 series launch and, worse problems, during the crypto mining and COVID boom Nvidia and board partners began to allocate the bulk of the stock to system integrators like ourselves to ensure their product ended up in the proper hands rather than a retailer that would mediately get scalped the second the listing went live.
6 - OUR SOLUTION AND SITUATION
Being the highest rated system builder in the country means we have been flooded with enquiries about the RTX 5090 ever since the rumour mill started up and this has ramped up hugely since they were announced early January and even more so since release date on January 30th. On launch, we received a grand total of one RTX 5090 and of course, this has gone to one lucky customer. Given we believe Nvidia and board partners will eventually ramp up production as well as probably allocate stock more towards system integrators like ourselves to help alleviate the scalper issue we believe the issue will become less of a problem the further time goes on. As a result we have decided to operate in a similar way to what we did back during the 40 series launch & COVID/Crypto mining times by offering a fair 1st come 1st served pre order list. As of today, we are formally launching the RTX 5090 and you will notice they are noted as having a *pre order* status on our awesome systems pages. This means, you are welcome to place your order now and we will fulfil your order once stock become available. Any orders made with said RTX 5090 come with absolutely no guarantee when they will be ready, it could be they are ready within estimated build and test times (typically 5-10 working days) or it could be months. "Super rush job" & "Priority" build and test services typically offered on all our non next day systems will not speed up or get you higher up on the list, it will literally be first come first served. At the same time, we will not be launching any RTX 5090s in our next day systems. Of course we will do our best to keep RTX 5090 orders in the loop as much as possible should they fall out of estimated build and test times and will publish as much information as we can here on this page as time goes on so if you are a 5090 customer check back here for an update.
7 - ALTERNATIVES
At the same time Nvidia Launched the RTX 5090, they also launched the RTX 5080 - it is also in constraint however at the time of writing, we do have stock and do currently expect to be able to fulfil orders within typical estimated build and test times so if you are wanting a high end graphics card now then feel free to checkout systems that already contain a RTX 5080 or others with the option to upgrade.
